Scottish Premiership 2026 is the 14th edition of the current top-tier league format and the 130th overall national championship in Scotland. Twelve clubs contest the title from late July through May, with a unique split format that keeps the race for the championship and European places tense until the final weeks.
Competition Format
The 2026-27 season begins on 31 July 2026 and finishes on 16 May 2027. Each of the 12 teams plays every other side three times before the league splits into a top-six Championship Group and a bottom-six Relegation Group.

- After the split, each team plays five additional games within its group, bringing the total to 38 matchdays.
